So why the Bucket Brigade?
The idea of a “bucket brigade” was developed by Benjamin Franklin when he established the Union Fire Company in Philadelphia in 1736. It was made up of volunteers equipped with bags and buckets in the event of a fire. Franklin’s bucket brigade was built on the principles of teamwork and coordinated effort.
Benjamin Franklin has been an inspiration to many people through the years. So in our pilot year, as we searched for a team name that would be fitting, we were inspired by Franklin’s curiosity and sense of practical innovation. The name “Bucket Brigade” encompasses these qualities as well as the team effort it takes to reach our goals.
