ROBOTICS: What it means to us~
Real world situations: Through robotics, you learn many skills needed in the real life. For example, before building the robot, you need to follow the design process by brainstorming, then eliminating certain possibilities. You then have to prototype and test certain parts. After building the robot, you need to try to find more efficient ways to do tasks.
Outreach to others: Robotics isn't all about doing for yourself, it is also about helping and doing for others. Outreach helps spread awareness of robotics and inspire new teams to form.
Batteries and Plan B: Never leave home without them! There were countless times where our ideal design didn't seem to work. However, we learned to work through the problems and develop a whole new, and sometimes better design!
Opportunities for learning and fun: Robotics is a great opportunity that teaches you many neccesary skills for success in the future. But best of all, it's a great fun experience where you meet new friends and discover new passions that you would have never knew of!
Technological applications: Especially in a world changing so quickly in technology, learning about these applications wouldn't be such a bad idea. In robotics, we can learn about the use of programming and why certain things work or don't work.
Innovative ideas: Innovation is important to robotics. Every new model of an already-found idea has little changes to it that could potentially make it more useful and helpful for society. Taking part in robotics helps us discover and think about how designs can change and the effect on the machine.
Competitive challenges: FTC is like a competitive sport. It encourages you to become the best team who can design the best robot and win the game!
Synergy of our collective learning, knowledge and effort: Teamwork is the most used skill in robotics. Together, as intelligent individuals, we can combine our knowledge and efforts to build more successful, better robot.
